User roles in MARC

Roles decide what a user can see and do.

What this is for​

Roles help keep work organized. For example, a service engineer may update assigned jobs while an owner may manage users and settings.

Who uses it​

Dealer owners, office admins, and trainers should understand roles. Every user is affected by role permissions.

Steps​

  1. Open the user or role screen if you have admin permission.
  2. Select a user or role.
  3. Review the allowed modules and actions.
  4. Save only if you are sure the user needs those permissions.
  5. Ask the owner or admin before giving higher access.

Important notes​

MARC hides actions that your role cannot use. Backend permissions still protect the data.

Common mistakes​

  • Expecting all users to see the same sidebar.
  • Giving admin access for daily field work.
  • Changing a role without checking who else uses it.
